MDR Summer Bucket List 2022

Our MDR summer bucket list is ready to go for 2022. See if any of the activities below strike your fancy. Then, go out and try it. #YOLO, right? 1. Fly Above the Pacific 

Feeling adventurous? Choose either a 500′ or 800′ flight through Marina del Rey Parasailing – 310-306-2222. 
 

2. CHARTER A BOAT FOR A SUNSET CRUISE 

Marina del Rey Yacht Charters Directory – Make reservations in advance; if you hire a skipper (captain), they can drive the boat for you.   

3. TRY YOGA ON A PADDLE BOARD

The 90-minute classes are held at Mother’s Beach in a calm cove with YOGAqua.     

4. RIDE THE MARVIN BRAUDE BIKE TRAIL

The paved bike path wraps around Marina del Rey. Try riding North to Santa Monica (Will Rogers) and return to Marina del Rey for a scenic biking day. Or head south toward Manhattan Beach. Click here to view the bike map.     

5. ENJOY A FLOATING PICNIC ON A DUFFY BOAT RENTAL

The electric duffy boat rental can be rented hourly. All you need is a valid driver’s license to operate the boat. Bring your own food and drinks. Don’t forget the bluetooth speaker for some tunes! Marina del Rey Boat Rentals – 310-306-4444.   

6. LEARN SOME SALSA DANCE MOVES

Even if you have two left feet, why not try learning how to salsa? The Warehouse Restaurant’s weekly lessons and open dance on Friday evenings is where to go in MDR. 310-823-5451      

7. TAKE A JET-SKIING GUIDED TOUR

Did you know you and your friends can hop on a jet-ski guided tour out of Marina del Rey? The weekend tours have various departure times. Make reservations in advance with Marina del Rey Boat Rentals – 310-306-4444.  

8. GO KAYAKING AND FIND SEA LIONS IN THE HARBOR

The calm harbor is a perfect spot to go kayaking (single or tandem rentals available). A fun part of the adventure is looking for sea lions lounging along the waterways. Various companies offer rentals including Marina del Rey Boat Rentals out of Fisherman’s Village or ProSUP Shop and Paddle Method at Mother’s Beach.  

9. SIGN UP FOR A SAILING LESSON 

Ahoy matey! Ever wonder what it takes to sail a boat? L.A.’s Marina is a perfect place to learn. Whether you’re a newbie or perhaps sailed years ago, it’s “knot” too late to expand your horizons and learn all about sailing. Marina del Rey Sailing Classes Guide   

10. SURF ABOVE THE WATER 

This last activity is definitely next level! Hydrofoiling is a fairly new sport for outdoor enthusiasts. You’re gliding above the water on a board that you control with a bluetooth remote. And here in MDR, you can book lessons through Killer Ocean Adventures seven days a week.   
 

11. RELAX ON A BRUNCH CRUISE OR COCKTAIL CRUISE

Hop aboard a luxury yacht on a public dining cruise out of Fisherman’s Village. The weekend brunch cruise, dinner cruise or Wednesday Sights & Sips cruise are a delightful way to see the coastline, eat delicious food and relax on the water. City Cruises – 855-594-7226.
   
 

12. PLAN A PICNIC AT THE FREE SUMMER CONCERTS

Gather with friends and family for a picnic at Burton Chace Park. Add boat loads of fun by having the picnic at this summer’s annual Marina del Rey free summer concerts (lineup TBA, more details here).
