1. Laid-back town with fewer crowds

Part of the appeal of off-season travel to L.A., and Marina del Rey, is that everything is less crowded, especially the beaches. Go for a peaceful morning walk or easily pick a spot on the sand to soak up the sun. If you’re looking for something more active, then go out on a deep-sea fishing charter or whale watching tour. Plus, there are endless outdoor activities to enjoy --and some with off-season deals-- including stand-up paddling, surfing, kayaking and driving a duffy boat in the harbor. L.A.'s Marina already boasts a relaxed, laid-back vibe year-round making it a perfect getaway choice during the holiday season.

2. Waterfront hotels and restaurants with a view

Yes, it's true. The weather in November and December is still warm enough for swimming. And dining outdoors is just what we love to do year-round. When you stay in Marina del Rey, it's important to know most hotels and restaurants are located along the water. During winter season, there's more availability to book hotel rooms with water views. When you're dining at a waterfront restaurant, it's easy to stay a little longer and cherish the stunning harbor views. There's something serene and relaxing when you watch sailboats go by, sea lions playing or witness a magical sunset.
