Getting to the Marina
With its proximity to LAX and its access to LA’s major freeways, Marina del Rey is a convenient destination for travelers to Los Angeles. Once you’re here, a variety of transportation options keeps you mobile. Circuit, our on-demand local shuttle amenity offered daily, as well as public buses, taxis, and rideshare services make getting around without a rental car quite easy. But if you do want your own wheels, many rental car agencies are located at LAX, and there are several locations in the Marina, too.

Driving to Marina del Rey
Marina del Rey’s proximity to major Los Angeles freeways makes it simple to drive here from other parts of California. Marina del Rey is convenient to the 405, 10, and 105 freeways, as well as Lincoln Boulevard (Route 1).
From the north, drive south on Interstate 405 (San Diego Freeway). Shortly past the junction with I-10 (Santa Monica Freeway), exit at Highway 90 (Marina Freeway). Take the 90 westbound for approximately 3 miles. As the freeway ends, turn left onto Mindanao Way, and drive into the Marina area. Turn left or right onto Admiralty Way to your destination.
From the south, drive north on Interstate 405 (San Diego Freeway), past Los Angeles International Airport, and exit at Highway 90 (Marina Freeway). Take the 90 westbound for approximately 3 miles. As the freeway ends, turn left onto Mindanao Way, and drive into the Marina area. Turn left or right onto Admiralty Way to your destination.
From the east, drive west on Interstate 10 (Santa Monica Freeway) to southbound I-405 (San Diego Freeway). Exit at Highway 90 (Marina Freeway). Take the 90 westbound for approximately 3 miles. As the freeway ends, turn left onto Mindanao Way, and drive into the Marina area. Turn left or right onto Admiralty Way to your destination.
An alternate route coming from any direction is Interstate 105 westbound, although note that this is the most used route to LAX Airport. Exit 1C will take you to Highway 1 North/Sepulveda Boulevard, toward LAX. Stay to the left into the tunnel, following the sign for Highway 1/Lincoln Boulevard. Follow Lincoln Boulevard north for 5 miles. Turn left onto Fiji Way, and make a quick right onto Admiralty Way.
Driving from LAX Airport to Marina del Rey
Follow the ground transportation signs out of the terminal. From LAX to Marina del Rey, taxi fare is approximately $25 and a shared shuttle ride runs $17-$20 per person. Rideshare services (such as Uber) operate at LAX and throughout Los Angeles. Click here for more information.
Driving from LAX to Marina del Rey, less than 4 miles away, is a breeze. Exiting the airport, look for North Sepulveda Boulevard. Stay on Sepulveda Boulevard briefly, and veer left onto Lincoln Boulevard. Follow Lincoln Boulevard north for several miles. Turn left onto Fiji Way, and make a quick right onto Admiralty Way. You’re now in the Marina!
Driving from Santa Monica Expo Line to Marina del Rey
From the Downtown Santa Monica Station, navigate to Lincoln Boulevard and head southbound for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Bali Way. The next immediate intersection is Admiralty Way, the Marina’s main drag, so go left or right to your final destination.
Public transportation from Union Station to Marina del Rey
Arriving at the beautiful 1939 Union Station is a historically elegant introduction to LA. Located 15 miles east of Marina del Rey, the station now serves as a central regional hub for passenger to access the AMTRAK train terminal, Metrolink trains, DASH buses within LA, and Southern California’s Metro Rail Lines.
To reach Marina del Rey from Union Station via public transportation, you can take city buses, taxis, or rideshare to the Marina.
Driving from the Greyhound Station to Marina del Rey
The Greyhound buses pull into the station in downtown LA at 1716 E. 7th Street. The terminal is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Connect with www.greyhound.com or call 213-629-8401. To reach customer service, dial 213-629-8536 Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-10 p.m. From the station, you can take city buses or taxis to the Marina.
From the Water
Marina del Rey features more than 4,600 slips and can accommodate boats with up to a 23-foot draft. Guest docks are provided at Burton Chace Park on a first come, first-served basis. Visitors should register in the Guest Dock Office, open daily from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m., in the Community Building located in the center of the park (last transaction begins at 7 p.m.).
