1. RIDE THE WATERBUS
Starting Friday, June 17th, take a scenic ride on the Marina WaterBus for $1 per person, one-way. The open-air pontoon runs summer Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through September 5. Stops include Burton Chace Park, Fisherman’s Village, Mother’s Beach, Brizo Bar & Restaurant and more.
Hours: Fridays: 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Saturdays: Noon – 10:00 p.m., and Sundays: Noon – 9:00 p.m. with some holidays.

2. PRACTICE YOUR CANNON BALL SKILLS

- Reserve a private cabana at the saltwater pool along the harbor at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey.
- Or test out your cannonball skills at Jamaica Bay Inn’s pool located next to Mother’s Beach.

3. watch a free movie by the beach, SUNDAY, JUNE 19
Give the dads and father figures in your life a cinema experience by the sea! Every Sunday, Jamaica Bay Inn offers a free outdoor movie on their lawn just steps from Marina “Mother’s” Beach. This Sunday’s feature film is “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (PG-13)—perfect for Marvel and action-film fans! Bring your own low chair or blanket. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase at Beachside.
4. GO ON THRILL-SEEKING ADVENTURES
Marina del Rey is known as L.A.’s waterfront playground because of the myriad activities to do on or by the water. Click here for our list of activities or see below for fun ideas:
- Book a parasailing tour and soar 500′ above the sea for a bird’s eye view of the Los Angeles coastline.
- Try hydro-foiling with Killer Ocean Adventures. Similar to surfing, you’ll get a 90-minute lesson on floating above the surface of the sea.
- Go on a deep-sea fishing tour with Marina del Rey Sportfishing. Choose from a half-day or three-quarter day excursion. Or rent a private boat for a chartered fishing trip in Santa Monica Bay.
- For something less intense, rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard from Marina “Mother’s” Beach.
5. CELEBRATE AT WATERFRONT RESTAURANTS
From steaks and seafood to casual eats such as pizza and burgers, most of Marina del Rey’s restaurants boast spectacular water views. Treat the Dads and father figures in your life to a celebratory brunch, lunch or dinner at spots such as:
- Beachside Restaurant & Bar is offering a Beachside BBQ Plate. For $55 per person, enjoy a selection of baby back ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, brown sugar baked beans, corn on the cob, Ding’s spicy slaw, Kings Hawaiian bread, and fresh watermelon. The BBQ special will be served from 12 p.m. – close.
- City Cruises welcomes you to brunch or dinner this weekend including a special Father’s Day brunch cruise featuring a chef-inspired buffet and a selection of wine, beer, and classic cocktails.
