INAUGURAL MARINA DEL REY CAREER DAY
We hosted the inaugural Marina del Rey Career Day on March 16 in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club and it was an outstanding success! High school students from throughout Los Angeles County embarked on an enriching journey into the world of hospitality and tourism. From exploring career pathways in hotels, yacht charters, and restaurants to uncovering unique opportunities with the Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station, our future leaders gained invaluable insights into what it takes to thrive in these fields.The half-day event ended with an amazing lunch at Tony P’s Dockside Grill and each student received a certificate from the Office of Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell. In addition, students were entered into a raffle which included prizes for activities and restaurants in the Marina and 5 students received scholarships for the LA County Youth Sailing Camp, sponsored by Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell. A special shoutout to the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s substation, City Cruises, FantaSea Yachts, The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, Tony P’s Dockside Grill, Office of Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, and all others who contributed their time, expertise, and resources to make this event truly inspiring and enriching.
Annual Dragon Boat Festival sponsorship
What a thrill it was for the Marina del Rey Tourism Board to sponsor the 3rd annual Marina del Rey Dragon Boat Festival. Teams hailing from every corner of the nation came to L.A.’s Marina to battle it out on the water. This year, we competed in the VIP and community race, clinching an impressive 2nd place victory. A heartfelt congratulations is in order for every member of our formidable team, The Dragon Slayers! We couldn’t be prouder of their dragon-taming prowess!

We had such a blast hosting our friends and colleagues from the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board right here in Marina del Rey! We treated their membership team to a delightful harbor cruise followed by a scrumptious waterfront lunch, all under the glorious California sun. The vibes were as bright as the weather, and we can’t wait to team up with them to keep spreading the word about Los Angeles as a top-tier destination. Let the partnership adventures continue! And shout-out to our partners Blue Pacific Yachting for the fabulous catamaran cruise experience.
TRADESHOWS & INDUSTRY EVENTS
Our recent experiences have been incredibly rewarding! We had the pleasure of attending the Visit California Market Outlook Forum in Palm Springs on March 11-12. Engaging with partners and colleagues from other destination marketing organizations from California provided us with valuable insights into current travel trends. Plus, our Business and Client Services Manager Barbara Littlejohn recently attended two meeting planner tradeshows to highlight Marina del Rey as a top choice for meetings and events in Los Angeles. She attended Connect NYC and Smart Meetings Dallas, where she conducted a total of 40 one-on-one appointments with corporate and association meetings and event planners.
