Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary in Marina del Rey

Marina del Rey marks America’s 250th anniversary with a full day of waterfront celebrations that bring together community, tradition, and coastal charm. Set against the backdrop of one of Southern California’s most scenic harbors, the day unfolds with a mix of relaxed daytime activities and festive evening events. It is a fitting way to recognize this historic milestone...whether its by the water, under the sun, and alongside neighbors and visitors alike.

Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show

fireworks in the sky over water

The Marina del Rey Annual Fireworks Show is the highlight of the evening, filling the marina sky with color as reflections ripple across the harbor for a 20-minute show. Spectators gather along the shoreline, on boats, and at waterfront venues, creating a shared sense of excitement as night falls. Arriving early allows time to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere before the show begins, making the experience as memorable as the display itself.

Make sure to include the $1 Summer WaterBus in your Independence Day plans so you can get around the Marina more easily. The open-air taxi runs on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays including 4th of July and Labor Day starting at 11 a.m. and stops at eight ports throughout the Marina.
