With summer around the corner, Marina del Rey transforms into a vibrant playground of waterfront festivities, blending community spirit with coastal charm. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, May offers a packed calendar of events that showcase the marina’s lively energy and scenic beauty.

SUNDAY, MAY 3: TORCH RELAY 5K

Start the month with a burst of camaraderie and walk for a good cause at the Torch Relay 5K benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Sunday, May 3. Stroll along the marina’s picturesque paths while supporting a great cause. This family-friendly 5K (3 miles) is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you prefer to walk, jog, or run, everyone is welcome – including kids and strollers!

Registration is $20 per person and you can set your own fundraising goal. 

Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the 5K begins at 11 a.m. The event kicks off at Mother’s Beach Parking Lot 10.

After completing the scenic 5K (3-mile) course along the Marina, stick around for a festive beach celebration featuring: Live music and entertainment, food and beverages including a friendly Chef Competition, raffles with amazing prizes and much more.

NEW ESCAPE ROOM NOW OPEN: ESCAPOLOGY

Escapology, located next to the AMC Dine-In Marina del Rey, brings a fresh indoor adventure to Marina del Rey with immersive escape room experiences. LIVE MUSIC THROUGHOUT MAY

Meanwhile, live music lovers can savor nightly performances at waterfront hotspots where harbor views meet craft cocktails and toe-tapping rhythms. Check out local favorites like SALT (Wednesday – Friday evenings), Beachside (Sunday Dog Days), The Warehouse (Friday salsa nights), Brizo (Fridays and Saturday evenings), PLANTA Cocina (Tuesday salsa nights) and Sinder Lounge.

MEMORIAL DAY BRUNCH CRUISE

Celebrate Memorial Day on the water with a Premier Brunch Cruise in Marina del Rey. This two-hour experience features a classic brunch buffet, free-flowing mimosas and sparkling cider, and live entertainment, all set against scenic marina views. Guests are welcomed with a glass of Champagne and seated at a reserved table, with additional cocktails, wine, and beer available for purchase. BEACH EATS: FOOD TRUCK THURSDAYS

Back for the 2026 summer season, Thursdays make Marina del Rey shine with Beach Eats at Lot 11 (5–9 p.m.). This weekly gourmet food truck gathering dishes up everything from lobster rolls to vegan tacos, all served against a backdrop of golden sunsets and salty breezes. Pack a beach blanket or beach chairs to dine al fresco at Mother's Beach, just steps from the food trucks.

MARINA DEL REY FARMERS MARKET: SATURDAYS

Saturdays bring the beloved Farmers Market, where local vendors line the promenade with fresh-picked produce, artisan cheeses, and handmade crafts—perfect for assembling a picnic to enjoy by the water. The weekly market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lot 11 on the corner of Via Marina and Panay Way.

YACHT PILATES

Step aboard a stunning 100-foot yacht in Marina del Rey for Yacht Pilates, a refreshing wellness experience on the water. This intimate class invites guests to move through a Pilates session on deck while taking in ocean views, fresh sea air, and the gentle rhythm of the marina. Upcoming dates: May 9 and May 23 with classes at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. followed by brunch and a sound bath. Also, check out “Pilates at the Point” on May 3 at 9 a.m. with an option to add brunch. WATERFRONT POTTERY STUDIO CLASSES

Bitter Root Pottery offers relaxed handbuilding classes on select Fridays and Sundays at 6 p.m., where guests can try their hand at making a pinched matcha set or a charcuterie board. The instructor walks you through each step, making it approachable whether you’re new to pottery or just looking to unwind. Pieces are fired on-site and can be picked up later or shipped if needed.
