Holiday Events in Marina del Rey

The holiday season in Marina del Rey will offer locals and visitors a festive atmosphere including the return of Marina Lights at Burton Chace Park and the annual New Year's Eve fireworks show. This year, the Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade will bring joy to the waterfront. The public is invited to walk, bike or paddle throughout the harbor to see the boats decorated in holiday lights. Take a stroll and shop throughout Fisherman's Village, Boardwalk Shops, Waterside Shops and nightly twinkling Christmas lights throughout December.

  • ANNUAL HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

    SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2021 at 6 p.m.

    Watch the 59th annual Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade. Popular viewing spots include Fisherman’s Village and Burton Chace Park. Catch a brief fireworks display at 5:55 p.m. before the parade begins. Enjoy musical entertainment from carolers, food truck fare and photo opportunities from 4-8 p.m. at Burton Chace Park.   • MARINA LIGHTS AT BURTON CHACE PARK

    Throughout December

    Enjoy festive light displays glowing every night at Burton Chace Park from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. starting December 11 through December 30. NOTE: Burton Chace Park will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31st per Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors.

  • HOLIDAY PADDLE AND COSTUME CONTEST

    SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2021 at 10 a.m.

    Dress in fun festive holiday attire for the first Holiday Paddle Parade and costume contest hosted by Pro SUP Shop. Enjoy a stand-up paddle or kayak guided tour ($30 for paddleboard or single kayak; $40 for tandem kayak). All ages and levels are welcome. This is a pet-friendly event, too!     Throughout December

    Holiday shopping can easily be done in L.A.’s Marina with outdoor plazas such as Waterside Shops, Villa Marina Marketplace, Fisherman’s Village or the Saturday Farmers Market at Parking Lot #11 near Marina “Mother’s” Beach.

  • FREE CONCERTS AT FISHERMAN'S VILLAGE

    Throughout weekends in December, 1-4 p.m.

    The free outdoor concerts at Fisherman’s Village is back during the month of December on select days from 1 to 4 p.m. featuring live entertainment from performers playing R&B, Jazz, Latin, Pop and Blues (weather permitting) at the plaza. Click here to see the full lineup.

  • NEW YEAR'S EVE FIREWORKS DISPLAY

    DECEMBER 31, 2021

    Head to Fisherman’s Village or anywhere near the South Jetty to enjoy the annual fireworks display and countdown to the New Year with fireworks at 8:59 p.m. and again at 11:59 p.m. NOTE: Burton Chace Park will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31st per Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors.

Celebrate the New Year with fireworks in Marina del Rey! Enjoy a ten-minute fireworks show, at 8:59:50 p.m. and 11:59:50 p.m. The shows will be shot from the Marina’s south jetty and can be viewed from virtually anywhere in Marina del Rey.

NOTE: Burton Chace Park is closed to the public on Friday, Dec. 31.

Location

Marina del Rey is located on the Los Angeles coast, 4 miles north of LAX. From Interstate 405, connect to westbound Highway 90, which terminates in Marina del Rey. Make a left onto Mindanao Way and follow it to the end at Burton Chace Park. 13650 Mindanao Way.
