KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
1. The Marina WaterBus is an open-air water taxi, offering fresh breezes and panoramic views as you glide through the harbor.
2. Hop on or off at your leisure—there are eight stops throughout the Marina. View map below:
3. Fares are just $1 per person, one-way (cash only). Planning to return later? Simply pay another $1 when you reboard.
**Did you know you can pre-pay and buy tickets online? Click here to purchase tickets in advance and show your QR code upon arrival to the attendant.
4. The WaterBus stays in the harbor and glides smoothly at a relaxed speed of 5 mph.

5. Bikes, strollers and wheelchairs are allowed. The boat crew will even tie up your bikes on the back of the pontoon if there isn’t room to bring them onboard.
6. Service pets are welcome to join your adventure.
7. The WaterBus operates on summer weekends only along with holidays like Labor Day and special events like the Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series.
8. Make plans to stop for lunch, dinner or cocktails at restaurants near each of the stops. For example, enjoy brunch at Whiskey Red's or dinner at La Marina Trattoria when you're at Fisherman's Village. Or have summer cocktails at Brizo Bar & Restaurant, Beachside Bar and Restaurant, or Killer Shrimp—all just steps from one of the WaterBus stops. Dear Jane’s, the seafood restaurant owned by Michelin-star chef Josiah Citrin, is also accessible via the Dolphin Marina stop.

9. Depending on your stop, you might wait 10-15 minutes for the next WaterBus. Fisherman’s Village is a popular boarding spot, but other stops often mean shorter waits.
10. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife! Sea lions, along with other marine life such as pelicans, herons and more, can be spotted throughout the marina. Click here to learn more about where to view marine life in MDR.
Whether you’re planning a day of waterfront dining, a family outing, or just want to experience Marina del Rey from a new perspective, the WaterBus is a must for your summer itinerary.
